Chef Geoff, as he is affectionately called by students and colleagues, prepares students for some of the top culinary universities in the U.S and career into the food industry. With his ten years in the culinary academia field at Food & Finance High School, Chef Geoffrey has established and/or oversees significant academia driven programming, events and has geared students onto lucrative
culinary paths.

Visiting Chef Series

Throughout the school year, the students are visited by well known, top industry & emerging chefs and experts in the field for a demo and a cooking class. Chefs talk about their experiences learning to cook, their first jobs, and what led them to the success they have achieved. Past & recurring chefs include, Chef Aaron Bludorn executive chef Café Boulud, Mark Murphy, executive chef, restauranteur & TV personality, Jean Georges, Chef Garciel Caces, freelance food stylist and recipe tester for the Food Network and Everyday with Rachael Ray magazine, private chef & culinary food series host, Chef Danielle Alex, chef Olivier Palazzo, emerging hip & talented chef/model in the downtown NYC scene.

Spring Showcase

Annual event highlighting the best in student food preparation and presentation. Each year the students select a cultural theme, which ties in with the curriculum on global cuisine. The theme is thoroughly researched which leads to menu planning and preparation.

Chopped

Over the past five years exceptional students have competed in the final round on the television series Teenage Chopped. The first ever Teenage Chopped champion came from Food and Finance.

In 2017 through C-CAP, Chef Geoff has trained students who have succeeded in winning over $320,000k in scholarship money to the top culinary schools. They have interned and received secured BOH positions in prominent establishmets such as Babbo, The Grill, Jams, Atlantic Grill, Café Boulud, Print Restaurant and the Meat Ball Shop

Cornell University Cooperative Extension (CUCE)

A cutting edge science technology partnership with Cornell University teaching students farming sustainability. F&FHS has two onsite working labs, aquaponic lab, which currently raises 20,000 live tilapia, and a hydroponic lab, where students are growing herbs, lettuces, and experiment with different foods. The labs are overseen by renowned Cornell University professor Philson Warner.
